i have an unreasonable obsession with symmetry. naturally, i turned it into a coordinate system. each grid in these paintings becomes its own little cartesian plane: a space defined by the x and y axes. within each plane, i construct mirrored curves, repeating forms and patterns, carefully balancing every shape around its axes. what looks like ornamentation is, essentially, my attempt to make mathematics aesthetically pleasing. and yes, this is probably the closest my engineering degree has ever come to being useful in my art. custom sizes and colour combinations are available. for commissions, please get in touch using the contact information provided on the website.
